Situated on a sand mound in the middle of the desert, Mihir Garh literally means the Sun Fortress. West of the village of Khandi, it is one of India's first luxury edge-of-desert resorts and is surrounded by scrub farmland and designed by the Rohet family. It is constructed out of wattle, mud and wood and has a wonderful rustic look whilst being supremely comfortable.
Mihir Garh provides a haven of desert comfort, the 9 air conditioned suites blend seamlessly with the desert colours, and offer more than 1700 square feet of private space, including private terraces to sleep under the stars, plunge pools and private courtyards.
Accomodation
At Mihir Garh we have nine magnificent suites and each offers you over 1700 square feet of private space. Alishan is the name given to the suites on the ground floor, each of which comes with its own plunge pool and personal courtyard. Meanwhile, the suites on the first floor are called Shandaar and have an exclusive open air Jacuzzi along with a private terrace. Alishan and Shandaar – the names come from the fine Marwari Stallions from the Rohet Stables.

The 5 Alishaan Suites and Black Buck are on the ground floor. All except Black Buck have private courtyards and infinity plunge pools on their desert-facing verandahs.
Shandaar Suite
The 3 Shandaar Suites on the floor above have private terraces and infinity spa pools bubbling hot or cold.
